Event 1. Workshop for strategic planning.

Participation: The event involved  33 citizens, including participants from the Vilnius (Lihuania), Wroclow (Poland), Bristol (UK), Tirana (Albania), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Milano (Italy), Creta (Greece), Thessaloniki (Greece), Budapest (Hungary), Munich (Germany), Florence (Italy), Berlin (Germany), Torino (Italy), Lameza (Italy), Rome (Italy), Naples (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain, San Sebastian (Spain), Barselona (Spain), Brussels (Belgium) etc.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Antalieptė, Vilnius (Lithuania) from  13/09/2018  to 18/09/2018


Short description:  The aim of the event was to create ‘Voice4Migrants’ creative workshop strategy and detailed plan of activities in 4 different directions 1) Traveling exhibition of non stereotypical headlines; 2) project communication campaign; 3) plan of working with media as a target group (international training for journalists program; design of journalistic experiments, content of posters); 4) gathering ‘Migrants’ Library’.

International cooperation sat the base for further implementation of the project. 1) It developed the content, graphic design and technical solution for the traveling exhibition of headlines. 2) Detailed communication strategy and visual image, posters for newsrooms were developed. 3) Plans/scenarios for journalistic experiments for each of partner countries  were prepared. 4) Partnering organizations had a coordinated and clear vision of how activities of the project should unfold.

Journalistic Exploration “Migration: telling a different story”Event 2  Creative workshop-trainings for journalists

Participation: The event involved  26  citizens, including participants from the Milan (Italy), Berlin (Germany), Palermo (Italy), Lorient (France), London (UK),  Madrid (Spain), Reading (London), Milan (Italy), Murcia (Spain), Scotland (UK), Wroclow (Poland), Vilnius (Lithuania), Budapest (Hungary), Copenhagen (Denmark), Athens (Greece), Sofia (Bulgaria), Bristol (UK), London (UK), San Sebastian (Spain).

Location / Dates: The event took place in San Sebastian (Spain), from  10/04/2019  to 13/04/2019

Short description:  The two-day event is designed to allow journalists to reflect upon the social consequences of media representations of migrants, and to explore imaginative ways of reshaping the agenda at a time when the ugly face of xenophobia is again appearing across Europe –  a chance to examine migration issues and meet with refugees, as well as to discuss ethics, sources, data analysis and cross border networking.

The aim of the event is to empower media professionals as important influencers of public opinion. It has

  • considered the causes and effects of bias and hate-speech
  • seeked to develop counter-narratives to hate-speech and discrimination;
  • encouraged participants to engage with Voice4Migrants project activities across Europe and develop dialogue about media coverage on reporting migration.

Event 3.”Voice4Migrants” Creative workshop in Lithuania

“fact-finding mission” in Lithuania


Participation: The event involved  177  citizens, including  participants from the Turin (Italy), Bristol (UK), Vilnius (Lithuania), Assen (Netherlands), Calabria (Italy), Budapest (Hungary), Anna Palacios (Spain), San Sebastian (Spain), Ankara (Turkey), Tbilisi (Georgia), Amieno (France), Beloziersk (Belarus), Tbilisi (Georgia), Madrid (Spain), Slovakia (Tinava), Milan (Italy), Mancester (UK), Pasvalys (Lithuania), Chotebor (Check Republic), Bilbao (Spain), Miriam (Spain), Thesalloniki (Greece).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Antaliept Vilnius (Lithuania), from  07/06/2019  to 12/06/2019.

Short description:  The aim of the event was to implement 6 highly effective experiential learning methods to join various members of European society in public discussion. It aimed to raise empathy, stimulate public consciousness, mutual understanding and critical thinking in Lithuania.

It consisted from the workshop and public event, that targeted towards general public, journalists and politicians. The public event took place in Lithuanian parliament.

The public event was compiled from 6 highly effective methods and targeted towards general public, journalists and politicians. These activities will gerenerate especially high visibility in Lithuania.

Public event participants had an oppurtunity to participate in ’Migrants’ Library’, meet and discuss with authors of most successful journalistic experiments, attend the traveling exhibition of headlines, participate in the discussions on migration and European future (joined by academics, activists, prominent writers and political analysts and politicians), read the posters for journalists and participate in graffiti painting “Voice4Voiceless”.

Event 4″Voice4Migrants” Creative workshop in Hungary

“fact-finding mission” in Hungary


Participation: The event involved 180  citizens, including  ….  participants from the city of … (country), Thesalloniki (Greece),

Location / Dates: The event took place in Budapest (Hungary), from  08/05/2019 to 12/05/2019

Short description:  The aim of the event was to implement experiential learning methods to join various members of European society in public discussion. It aimed to raise empathy, stimulate public consciousness, mutual understanding and critical thinking in Hungary.

It consisted fromt the workshop and public event, that targeted towards general public, journalists and politicians. The havent built  the tent in one of central squares of the capital city (as it was planned), but tried to have an open event in a safe space for all migrants and NGO-s – Central European University, had public actions in central squares of Budapes to generate visibility in Hungary, but at the same time all participants are safe.

Event 5, Event for dissemination of results

Perceptions of Migration – the challenges for media professionals and the new European Parliament

Location / Dates: The event took place in Vilnius (Lithuania), from  28/09/2020  to 28/09/2020

Short description:  The aim of the event was to disscuss and disseminate the resulsts of the project.

During the event an international panel of exiled journalists and migration experts discussed the results of a investigating ways of improving media coverage of migration issues. Newly elected MEPs and officials from the European Commission have also participated and commented on the outcomes of the innovative project.

Event 6. Creative workshop for evaluation and ensuring sustainability of results

Short description:  The aim of the event was to evaluation and ensure the sustainability of the project results. The results of journalistic experiments, migrant libraries and other methods used during the project were reflected and discussed. The plan for continuation of activities discussed, new ideas for projects and initiatives created.
